FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORK?

The application will ask you about yourself, and relevant experience. You will then sign up for an interview, with a panel of three people for one of the spots available.

  • You must attend an interview to be considered.

  • If you are applying to be a delegate at a case competition, you will be required to do a 5-minute presentation based on a case e-mailed to you 4-5 days in advance.

...

CAN I APPLY IF I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE? WILL I BE TRAINED?

Yes, you can absolutely apply if you have no case competition experience! We have a director of team development that works with you and the selected team to ensure you are ready to compete at the case competition.

...

WHY DO I HAVE TO INTERVIEW FOR A CONFERENCE/SEMINAR?

An online application does not let us get to know you as well as meeting you in person does. An interview helps to ensure that we are confident in who we are sending to represent Edwards at external conferences/seminars!

HOW WILL I GET THERE?

The EBSS case competition and conference team works with you and the other selected delegates to decide on driving/flying accommodations.

* If it is decided to drive there, the person driving will be reimbursed gas costs.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

  • Case competitions cost $200.

  • Conferences/seminars cost $250

  • You are eligible to get these costs reimbursed to you from the undergrad office, by completing their co-curricular funding application in the month of September and/or January.

  • Travelling expenses are covered within the delegate fee.

  • Food expenses incurred on travel days are reimbursed up to a specified amount.
