Marissa Pilat

IBSS Spokesperson Headperson

Hey everyone! My name is Marissa Pilat (she/her) and I am a 3rd year marketing major. This is my first year on the EBSS and I am super excited to get involved and meet new people! I am also currently in the co-op program in hopes to secure a job for a work term! Outside of the EBSS I can be found shopping at Winners (it’s a problem), taking my dog for walks, doing work for my volunteer position with the Saskatoon Dog Rescue, cooking and baking, or finishing work that I procrastinated on. I am excited for the upcoming school year and what it has to bring!

Dante Carter

Lexi Martin

IBSS Traditions and Events Headperson

Hello everyone! My name is Lexi Martin, I grew up in the Qu’Appelle Valley in the town of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. I am a proud Dene/Nakoda woman and a member of Ceg-A-Kin (Carry the Kettle) First Nation in Treaty 4 territory, with paternal roots from Fond Du Lac Denesuline First Nation in Treaty 8 territory. During my first year at USask, I wanted to be more involved and find a place where I felt safe, supported and welcomed, that’s exactly what the IBSS became to me. Our team focus’ on building a community for Indigenous students, working towards reconciliation and hosting multiple events throughout the school year. I am in my second year of business through the ABAC (Aboriginal Business Administration Certificate) program, and I am excited to be this year’s Traditions and Events Headperson for the IBSS! In my spare time I like to play hockey, golf, spend time with my friends and family, and enjoy binge watching movies and TV shows. I hope everyone has a great school year!
